DuPage County Board Candidate for Re-election
- Amy Chavez, has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in Human Resource Management. Her extensive professional business and leadership experience has proven to be an asset to the DuPage County Board. After her election in 2020, Amy was appointed Chair of Economic Development for the County Board. In her role, she worked with the Board to secured over $36 million dollars in ARPA relief to the small businesses in DuPage County.

As a business professional..
Amy worked in the human resources, telecommunications, and healthcare realms. During her time at Lucent Technologies, Amy developed extensive knowledge of wireless network infrastructures and served as the liaison to the Salt Lake City Olympic Committee (SLOC). She worked closely with the leadership on the the Olympic Committee to oversee the Request for Proposal (RFP) process and coordinated the design and response process between the engineers at Lucent Technologies and the Telecommunications Team on the Olympic Committee.
Her communication and coordination expertise allowed her to liaison between the SLOC and the team at Lucent to implement the $350-million telecommunications build-out to prepare Salt Lake City and the surrounding municipalities for the influx of people attending and participating in the 2002 Olympic Games. In contrast, the DuPage County Board Budget is an annual amount of around $420-million, so this number is not daunting to this DuPage County Board candidate.
In the healthcare arena, Amy was one of the top sales representatives for Allergan Pharmaceuticals. Focusing on glaucoma and blindness prevention, she covered a three-state territory and received several promotions into leadership, training, and mentorship positions. She also oversaw the indigent patient program for her territory, ensuring that even our most needy patients received access to the most efficacious medications.

Amy is committed to volunteerism and has served on several boards, including:

- Organizations that support common sense gun laws
An Active DuPage County Family
Amy has been married to Andy for 21 years. Together, they have 14-year-old twins, Aiden and Alessandra, who attend public schools in District 203. Both of her children are active in sports - Aiden loves ice hockey and wrestling, and Alessandra enjoys water polo and basketball. Amy and Andy live in downtown Naperville, where you’ll often find them walking downtown to enjoy the Riverwalk area with the kids and their dog, Bandit. Inspired by her mother who was a teacher for 30 years, Amy is an active volunteer at her children’s schools, working on everything from the annual Fun Fair to assisting in the library and even taught a sewing mini-course at Naper Elementary. You can bet that this DuPage County Board Candidate will greet the challenges that face DuPage County with love, passion and tenacity.
